Google 開源博客消息顯示，Google 公佈了一系列 Android 平台對開源架構 RISC-V 的未來支援計劃，並透露將在明年推出 RISC-V 版的 Android 模擬器。
其實在 Google 去年年底舉行的 RISC-V 峰會上，Google 就已宣佈讓 RISC-V 成為 Android 的 T1 級支援架構。這意味著 Google 打算將 RISC-V 架構地位提至 ARM 處理器的同一水平。
值得一提的是，Android Open Source Project (AOSP) 從去年 9 月就開始接受 RISC-V 修補檔，隨著一年時間過去，項目已經進入到了成熟支援階段（mature support）。Google 表示，現在開發者可在自己的裝置上進行構建、測試和運行 RISC-V 的 Android。
Later this year, we expect to have the NDK ABI finalized and canary builds available on Android’s public CI soon and RISC-V on x86-64 & ARM64 available for easier testing of riscv64 Android applications on a host machine. By 2024, the plan is to have emulators available publicly, with a full feature set to test applications for various device form factors! As recently announced in our collaboration with Qualcomm, we expect wearables to be the first form factor available.
而在今年晚些時候，開發者還能更輕鬆地調試 riscv64 Android 應用程式。計劃順利的話，明年 Google 就會計劃公開提供 RISC-V 版 Android 模擬器。
當前現階段 AOSP 對 RISC-V 的支援比較原始，Android Runtime (ART) 的完全改善後端處於開發階段。
