Pokémon Go 三年前推出時極速成為全球熱話，及後亦以山崩式流失玩家。當中，有人放棄的原因就是因為久久等不到想要的玩法，其中一樣就是玩家之間的決鬥功能。
現時 Pokémon Go 遊戲裡雖然已經有決鬥功能，只不過是以打道館形式進行，玩法有點單調。而久有傳聞的 Player Vs. Player (PVP) 決鬥功能，自遊戲推出已來已經傳了一年又一年。今日，官方終於有正式說法，公告這項功能即將於 2020 年初推出。
Pokémon Go 官方公告表示，這項決鬥功能叫「GO Battle League」，正如其他遊戲元素一樣，主要是想吸引玩家與玩家之間的互動性，從而令遊戲更有活力。訓練員們將可按次序進入此模式，然後透過遊戲的配對系統進行玩家之間的配對。
Like many Pokémon GO features, GO Battle League will encourage players to get out and explore the world with Pokémon. Trainers will be able to walk in order to earn entry into the GO Battle League, then battle opponents from around the globe through an online matching system and rise in the ranks of the league. We hope this feature will make the Pokémon GO battling experience more competitive and accessible to more Trainers.
不過可惜的是，目前官方仍未能給出確實推出的時間，而且還要再等到 2020 年初，實在是讓人等太久。至於這玩法推出後，可否吸引更多流失的玩家回潮呢？似乎還要到時侯看看其吸引能力了。還有在玩的訓練員們，加緊提升自己的實力吧！
